Effect given to the recommendations of the Committee and the Governing Body

1. 117. The Committee last examined this case at its November 2011 meeting, when it requested the Government to inform it of any decision handed down on the dismissal of the trade unionist of the enterprise Crediscotia Financiera SA, Mr William Alburquerque Zevallos (the court of first instance had ruled against him) [see 362nd Report, paras 111–112].
2. 118. In its communication of 14 May 2012, the Government states that the trade unionist in question appealed the decision of 31 January 2012, which contained a finding of serious misconduct unrelated to his status as a union leader.
3. 119. The Committee takes note of this information and requests the Government to keep it informed of the outcome of the appeal.
