Legislative developments. In its previous comments the Committee had noted the Government’s indication that a comprehensive law on freedom of association was being prepared, designed to consolidate all existing legislation on the matter in one single act, and to further implement relevant ILO Conventions and Recommendations, as well as the Caribbean Community Model Law on the Recognition, Status and Registration of Trade Unions. The Committee notes that the Government informs that the Freedom of Association Act (WVV) was approved by the National Assembly and entered into force on 15 December 2016. The Committee notes the Government’s indication that various provisions of the WVV give effect to the Convention. While noting the Government’s indication that a copy of the Act is attached to the report, the Committee notes that the Act has not been transmitted. The Committee therefore requests the Government to provide a copy of the Act so that it can examine its conformity with the Convention.
