The Committee notes that the Government’s report has not been received. It hopes that the next report will contain full information on the matters raised in its previous comments initially made in 2012.
Repetition
The Committee notes the Government’s report received in November 2012 in reply to the 2007 direct request. The Government indicates that it will keep the Committee informed with respect to the denunciation of the Convention. In its previous reports, the Government indicated that, as a landlocked country, the conditions for implementing the Convention in Afghanistan do not exist. It also indicated its intention to denounce the Convention after the approval by Cabinet and the National Assembly. The Committee recalls that, since the ratification of the Convention, it has never been possible to examine a detailed report on its application. It invites the Government to keep it informed of the denunciation of the Convention.
