The Committee notes with regret that the Government’s report has not been received. It hopes that a report will be supplied for examination by the Committee at its next session and that it will contain full information on the matters raised in its previous direct request, which read as follows:
Repetition
The Committee notes the brief information provided by the Government that no effect is given to the present Convention in national legislation. It also notes that although the Republic of Tajikistan is a landlocked country, the provisions of the Convention also apply to processes of loading or unloading of ships engaged in inland navigation. It further notes the information provided in the context of the Government’s report submitted in 2010 on the application of the Guarding of Machinery Convention, 1963 (No. 119), regarding the draft ordinance on “Regulatory instruments containing state regulatory requirements on safety and health,” and the statement that this instrument is intended, inter alia, to strengthen the legal framework in the field of occupational safety and health, and to ensure appropriate safe conditions of work and occupational safety and health in every workplace. Against this background the Committee hopes that the Government will take appropriate measures in the context of the ongoing legislative review to ensure that due effect is given to the provisions of this Convention. The Committee requests the Government to keep the Office informed of any further developments relevant to the application of this Convention and to transmit copies of any new legislation once it has been adopted.
