Fishermen's Competency Certificates Convention, 1966 (No. 125) - Djibouti (Ratification: 1978)

The Committee notes the Government’s indication that the situation has not changed since its last report. It recalls, in this regard, the Government’s statement in earlier reports that the fishing sector is practically non-existent in the country. The Committee once again observes that, in light of the absence of a fishing industry, the Convention is in essence without object and therefore regular reporting on its application serves little purpose. The Committee accordingly requests the Government to keep the Office informed of any possible future developments that might significantly affect the application of the Convention in either law or practice.
