Seafarers' Pensions Convention, 1946 (No. 71) - Bulgaria (Ratification: 1949)

The Committee notes the information provided by the Government in its last report and in particular the adoption of the Code on compulsory social insurance which entered into force on 1 January 2000. The Committee notes that this Code is applicable to seafarers and Chapter 6 contains regulations concerning the compulsory pension insurance scheme. Consequently, the Committee would like the Government to communicate information on the impact of this new legislation and of any other text governing the pension insurance scheme on the implementation of each of the Articles of the Convention.

With regard to the conditions that the said scheme must satisfy, the Committee would like the Government to indicate whether recourse is had to paragraph 1(a) or to paragraph 1(b) of Article 3 of the Convention. Please provide the relevant information required in this regard by the report form.
