Article 5(1) of the Convention. Effective tripartite consultations. The Committee notes with interest the detailed information provided by the Government regarding the tripartite consultations held on ILO-related matters during the reporting period. The Government indicates that the ILO Consultative Group met 14 times, primarily for the purpose of briefing the tripartite partners in advance of the sessions of the ILO Governing Body and Conference. Moreover, on 1 April 2022, tripartite consultations were held within the President’s Committee on the ILO (PC/ILO) on issues relating to the possible ratification of ILO conventions. In this context, the PC/ILO pledged to redouble its efforts toward the expeditious and successful completion of the ratification process of the Discrimination (Employment and Occupation) Convention, 1958 (No. 111), which was submitted to the Senate for advice and consent in 1998. In this context, the PC/ILO directed the Tripartite Advisory Panel on International Labor Standards (TAPILS) to complete an update to its review confirming the legal feasibility of the ratification of Convention No. 111 by the United States of America. The PC/ILO also directed the TAPILS, in conjunction with all other relevant government agencies, to intensify its work in reviewing the legal feasibility of the ratification of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC, 2006); the Promotional Framework for Occupational Safety and Health Convention, 2006 (No. 187); and the Violence and Harassment Convention, 2019 (No. 190). Lastly, the Government reports that additional informal consultations were also held, such as extensive tripartite consultations that took place prior to and during the 2018–19 negotiations of the Violence and Harassment Convention, 2019 (No. 190). The Committee requests the Government to continue to provide detailed updated information on the frequency, content and outcome of tripartite consultations held on all matters concerning international labour standards covered by Article 5(1) of the Convention, including with regard to developments in respect of the possible ratification of the Discrimination (Employment and Occupation) Convention, 1958 (No. 111), the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC, 2006), the Promotional Framework for Occupational Safety and Health Convention, 2006 (No. 187), and the Violence and Harassment Convention, 2019 (No. 190).
