Submission. The Committee notes with concern that the Government has once again provided no reply to its previous comments. It recalls that the constitutional obligation of submission is of the highest importance and is a fundamental element of the standards system of the ILO. The Committee recalls that Tonga became a Member of the Organization on 24 February 2016. In accordance with article 19(5)(a) and (6)(a) of the ILO Constitution, the Office communicated to the Government the text of the Convention and Recommendations adopted by the Conference at its 106th and 108th Sessions (2017–19). The Committee therefore once again reiterates its request that the Government provide information on the submission of the Employment and Decent Work for Peace and Resilience Recommendation, 2017 (No. 205), adopted at the 106th Session of the Conference, as well as the Violence and Harassment Convention (No. 190) and Recommendation (No. 206), 2019, adopted by the Conference at its 108th Session (June 2019). The Committee expresses the hope that the Government will provide the information requested without further delay.
The Committee recalls that the Government may avail itself of the technical assistance of the Office, if it so wishes, to assist it in achieving compliance with its obligations under article 19 of the ILO Constitution relating to the submission of the instruments adopted by the Conference to the competent authorities.
