National AIDS Council of Zimbabwe Act [Chapter 15:14]. - Adoption: 1999 | ZWE-1999-L-58146 Makes provision for the establishment of the National AIDS Council of Zimbabwe, and its structure, functions and powers. Also provides for other measures to combat the spread of the Human Immuno-Deficiency Virus and the Acquired Immune-Deficiency Syndrome, and for the promotion, coordination, and implementation of programmes and measures to limit or prevent their spread.

Labour Relations (HIV and AIDS) Regulations (S.I. 202 of 1998). Adoption: 1998-08-14 | ZWE-1998-R-52042 Requires employers to provide information and education regarding the transmission of HIV and to promote safe sex practices. Prohibits employers from requiring employees to undergo HIV testing or to disclose HIV status. No employer shall terminate or discriminate against an employee on the grounds of HIV status. Further provides that HIV status shall not affect eligibility for employee benefits or sickness and compassionate leave. In employment where HIV transmission is a risk, employers shall ensure precautions and supply protective equipment.

Prevention of Discrimination Act 1998 (No. 19 of 1998 (Cap. 8:16)). - Adoption: 1998 | ZWE-1998-L-52039 Prohibits discrimination on the grounds of race, tribe, place of origin, national or ethnic origin, political opinions, colour, creed or gender with regard to access to public premises or supply of commodity, service, or facility. S. 6 prohibits persons from making statements regarding "racial superiority or hatred" if such statements would endanger the rights, freedoms and reputations of persons in Zimbabwe. S. 10 provides for exceptions to the Act with regard to political and religious organizations, as well as for acts "reasonably justified" in view of physiological differences between genders or in the interest of public morality. Amends the Unlawful Organizations Act (C. 11:13) so as to allow the President to prohibit organizations which propagate racial discrimination. Sets forth penalties for contravention of the Act. Repeals the Public Premises (Prevention of Racial Discrimination) Act (C. 8:12).
