Determines when terminal benefits and entitlements due may be deducted from compensation payable to employer.

Also determines which persons shall be required or permitted to contribute, and makes provision for benefits on abolition of office, benefits on resignation, and refund of contributions to member who is discharged during probationary period.

Such work means work (a) which is likely to jeopardise or interfere with education of child or young person; (b) involving contact with hazardous substance; (c) involving underground mining; (d) that exposes child or young person to electronically-powered hand-tools, cutting or grinding blades; (e) that exposes child or young person to extreme heat, cold, noise or whole body vibration; (f) that is night shift work. Provides for establishment of Child Welfare Council and Child Welfare Fund. Also regulates foreign adoptions.

    Amends criminal law regarding sexual offences. Divided into 6 parts. Part 1 contains preliminary provisions. Part 2 deals with extra-marital sexual intercourse with young persons and severely intellectually handicapped persons, Part 3 with non-consensual sexual acts, and Part 4 with suppression of prostitution. Part 5 makes provision for prevention of spread of HIV. Provides for offence of deliberate transmission of HIV, testing of sexual offenders for HIV infection, and presumption regarding HIV infection. Part 6 contains general provisions.

    Collective agreement made between the Transport Operators' Association and the Zimbabwe Rural Transport Organization on one part and the Transport and General Workers' Union. Lays down the conditions of service in the industry with respect to wages, hours of work, payment for overtime and night driving, deductions, holidays and leave, contract and notice, protective clothing and ID cards, termination of employment. Also contains special provisions with respect to taxi-drivers, casual employees and boat crew.

    Export Processing Zones (Employment) Rules, 1998 (S.I. No. 372 of 1998).

    Sets forth conditions of employment in export processing zones. Prohibits discrimination in employment and provides the right of membership in trade unions and the right to bargain collectively in export processing zones. Employees hired for three consecutive months shall be considered permanent employees. Sets forth benefits in case of death or injury, maternity benefit, hours of work, and overtime. Part V provides that workers may appoint workers' committees to represent them in trade unions, and Part VI provides for the establishment of Labour Boards which shall be empowered to settle disputes. Part VII provides the right to collective job action under specified circumstances. Occupational safety and health matters are addressed in Part VIII, which allows, inter alia, workers to stop work in face of a bona fide occupational hazard.

    Labour Relations (HIV and AIDS) Regulations (S.I. 202 of 1998).

    Requires employers to provide information and education regarding the transmission of HIV and to promote safe sex practices. Prohibits employers from requiring employees to undergo HIV testing or to disclose HIV status. No employer shall terminate or discriminate against an employee on the grounds of HIV status. Further provides that HIV status shall not affect eligibility for employee benefits or sickness and compassionate leave. In employment where HIV transmission is a risk, employers shall ensure precautions and supply protective equipment.

    Made under the Presidential Powers (Temporary Measures) Act (Chapter 10:20). Defines "unlawful collective action" as a strike, boycott, lockout, sit-in, stay-away or other action which is prohibited by subsection 104(3) of the Labour Relations Act or which resists the law of the government or seeks to induce or compell the government to alter a law. Allows the Labour Minister to suspend the registration of trade unions, employers' organizations, or federations which are associated with unlawful collective actions, provided reasonable opportunity is given for such organizations to make representations in the matter. Provides additional penalties for employers, officials of workers' and employers' organizations, and other persons who associate themselves with unlawful collective action. S. 7 provides for civil liability for persons or organizations which encourage or organize unlawful actions. S. 8 allows employers to dismiss employees without approval of the Minister on the grounds of participation in an unlawful action.

    Requires that public authorities be notified of public gatherings and sets forth rules governing public gatherings. These rules shall not apply to, inter alia, trade union meetings or related activities.
