    AN ACT:
    (a) to protect the health of the people of Samoa from the diseases and premature death caused by tobacco use and tobacco smoke exposure;
    (b) to protect non-smokers from the hazards posed by tobacco smoke;
    (c) to regulate the marketing, advertising, sale, promotion and distribution of tobacco products, whether directly or through the sponsorship of other products, services or events; and
    (d) to monitor and regulate the presence of harmful constituents in tobacco products.

    Deals with a wide array of issues concerning occupational safety and health. Part III concerns general duties of care such as the identification and management of hazards and the provision of adequate training by the employer. Part IV deals with specific duties of care arising from potentially hazardous jobs or situations. Part V contains provisions concerning inspections and notices. Part VI governs regulations and codes of practice. Part VII concerns offences, penalties and legal procedings.
