Regulates in detail the collaboration betweem the authorities in the supervision of the application of Acts No. 364 of 2003, No. 1160 of 1977 and No. 958 of 1998.

Repeals the agreement reached on 29 March 2004.

The consolidation of the Act includes a total of 29 amending texts through Octotber 2018 (up to Act 2018:1088). The consolidated text includes various amendments.

Chapter 2: General rules on vessels and their manning.
Chapter 3: Special rules for certain vessels (certificates, passenger vessels, etc.).
Chapter 4: Working environment (reference to the Work Environment Act, accomodation, recreation accomodation, welfare facilities, safety delegates, etc.).
Chapter 5: Supervisory authorities.
Chapter 6: Restrictions in the right to use a vessel.
Chapter 7: Authorization.
Chapter 8: Responsibilities.
Chapter 9: Additional rules (appeal, penalty, etc.).

Repeals Act No. 49 of 1988.
