    Pensions (School Teachers) (Amendment) Act 1994 (No. 4 of 1994)

    Provides that a teacher who has occupied, for not less than 10 years, the position of a teacher in any school and who has attained the age of fifty years, or who has completed twenty-six years and eight months of continuous service as a teacher in any school (irrespective of age) may on retirement be granted a pension as provided in this Act. Provides that every teacher under the age of fifty years who has completed twenty years of continuous service as a teacher in any school may retire and may be granted a pension (the teacher must give two years written notice to the Public Service Commission of intention to retire at the expiration of that notice).

    These Regulations provide that teachers shall not be allowed to be absent without leave or a reasonable excuse, shall be liable to be summarily dismissed and for related matters.
