This Decision was issued by the Central Council of Bulgarian Trade Unions, the Ministry of Public Health and the Committee on Labour and Social Security, in application of the Labour Code. Within the terms of s. 1(1), the "essential factors" to take into account in evaluating the occupational safety and health situation are the safety of production equipment, the microclimate, the purity of the air, noise, vibrations, lighting, radiation, environmental conditions from a physiological and an ergonomic viewpoint, and sanitary and social services at the workplace. The data are to be collected for a "working conditions certificate" issued to the enterprise to use in evaluating the health and safety situation of the working environment. In effect 1 Jan. 1987.

This Decision, issued by the Committee on Labour and Social Affairs, the Ministry of Public Health and the Central Council of Bulgarian Trade Unions, contains technical and administrative provisions on the furnishing, use and maintenance of helmets, glasses, protective vests, gloves, etc., in the enterprises concerned, taking into account the pertinent provisions in the Labour Code. It takes effect 1 Jan. 1987 and repeals the 1981 Directive (no further date) on the same subject.

Decision No. 3 on preliminary and periodic mandatory medical examinations for workers (last amended in 2005). -

This Decision, issued by the Minister of Public Health, concerns the organisation and the administration of preliminary and periodic medical examinations. Such examinations shall take place every year for workers under 18 years and once every 3 years for workers over 40 years of age, and once every 5 years for workers between 18 and 40. Particular attention is given to minors under age 18, in accordance with provisions of the Labour Code, as well as to workers in contact with harmful substances. The results of the examinations shall be submitted to the competent bodies for analysis. Additional provisions provide a definition of "organic disease of the central nervous system", "psychic diseases" and "drug addiction". The final provisions specify that this Decision has been approved by the Central Council of Bulgarian Trade Unions and by the Committee on Labour and Social Affairs; it repeals Ordinance No. 14 of 1983 on the same subject.

Order adopted by the Ordinance No. 72 of 1986 of the Council of Ministers and the Central Committee of Bulgarian Trade Unions. It deals with the placement of persons with a reduced working capacity (Part I) and of workers who are pregnant or nursing infants (Part II). Part III contains specific rules on disabled workers engaged in special workshops. The transitional and final provisions specify that this Decision, which entered into force on 1 Jan. 1987, has been issued in application of the Labour Code and that it repeals the Decision of 17 Dec. 1963, as amended by the Decision of 25 Oct. 1965.

S. 23 has the aim of "satisfying the material, spiritual and social needs of the people, taking into account the growth in the country's economic possibilities". It sets the increase of "real income" of every person at 18 percent over the period in question and calls for the satisfaction of other material needs (food, lodging, recreation, etc.). S. 24 develops the notion of "industry for human beings". S. 25 is aimed at ensuring, in general terms, health and safety at work. S. 26 deals with environmental protection.
