| Résumé/Citation: | Amends Magistrates' Courts Act 1944 so as to further regulate appointment of magistrates in an acting or temporary position. Amends Magistrates Act 1993 to regulate remuneration and suspension of magistrates, and to provide for equal benefits to accrue to spouses and heterosexual or same-sex life partners of magistrates. Also amends Independent Commission for the Remuneration of Public Office-bearers Act 1997, and the Judges Remuneration and Condition of Employment Act 2001. |
