Second Region

Amends provisions of the Young Persons (Protection of Employment) Act regarding child labour. Child labour is forbidden; however, children over the age of 13 may be engaged in light work for no more than 2 hours daily (3 hours in agricultural family enterprises). Children over 13 who are not obliged to attend school may work in training programmes or privately for up to 35 hours a week. Defines hazardous work which shall not be performed by children. Also amends sections of the Seamen's Act (26 July 1957) regarding work which shall not be performed by young persons aboard ships.
