Abstract/Citation
Provides that persons who have reached the age of 25 may take leave for a maximum of one year to participate in recognized public training schemes. Persons who have children between the ages of 0 and 8 years may take leave to care for their own children (adopted children included) for a minimum of 13 weeks and a maximum of 52 weeks. A prerequisite is that the person shall be entitled to daily cash benefits in the event of sickness, confinement and adoption. Each parent is entitled to 26 weeks of the 52 weeks and parents cannot transfer their entitlement between each other. Also provisions on prohibition of dismissal and return to work.
