Provides for the health and safety of persons at work as well as of those persons connected with the use of plant and machinery. Protects persons other than persons at work against hazards to health and safety arising out of or in connection with the activities of persons at work, and establishes an advisory council for occupational health and safety. Establishes inspection services, and grants powers to inspectors to investigate and obtain information. Specifies the matters in respect of which the Minister may make regulations. Repeals the Machinery and Occupational Safety Act, 1983; the Machinery and Occupational Safety Amendment Act, 1991; and the Machinery and Occupational Safety Amendment Act, 1989.
