| Résumé/Citation: | Amends the Aliens and Immigration Laws N° 2 of 1972, 54 of 1976, 50 of 1988, 197 of 1989, 100(I) of 1996, 43(I) of 1997, 14(I) of 1998, 22(I) and 164(I) of 2001, 88(I) and 220(I) of 2002, 66(I) of 2003, 178(I) of 2004, 8(I) and 184(I) of 2007, 29(I) and 143(I) of 2009, 153(I) of 2011, 41(I), 100(I) and 117(I) of 2012 and 32(I) of 2013, in view of harmonizing national legislation with European Parliament and Council Directives: - 2008/115/EC of 16 December 2008, on common standards and procedures in Member States for returning illegally staying third-country nationals; - and 2011/51/EU of 11 May 2011, amending Council Directive 2003/109/EC to extend its scope to beneficiaries of international protection, as well as in view of exercising the discretionary power conferred to the European Union Member States by: - article 5, para 2 of the Council Directive 2003/109/EC of 25 November 2003, concerning the status of third-country nationals who are long-term residents; - and article 5, para 3, 2nd phrase of the Council Directive 2003/86/EC of 22 September 2003, on the right to family reunification. It specifically amends articles 2, 6, 18Z, 18H, 18, 18IB, 18ID, 18IST, 18IZ, 18I, 18K, 18KST, 18LA, 18OC and 19, concerning the recognition of the international protection status to third-country nationals. |
