Abstract/Citation: Provides for regulations in order to give the Coast Guard the ability to process personal data in an appropriate manner in their operations and to protect individuals from having their privacy violated by such treatment.

Contains 5 sections concerning, inter alia:

Section 1: Purpose and scope.
Section 2: General provisions.
Section 3: Processing of personal data in law enforcement activities.
Section 4: Shared data available in the law enforcement activities.
Section 5: Processing of personal data in other operational activities.

The Act replaces Ordinance (2003:188) concerning the processing of personal data in the Coast Guard. The Act applies in some cases instead of the Personal Data Act (1998:204) and contains references to certain provisions applicable in Coast Guard activities. Contains references to the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act (2009:400) and the Act (2000:343) on International Police Cooperation.
