| Abstract/Citation: | Makes provisions regarding the certification of seafarers, including the format of endorsement, the recognition and revalidation of certificates and the responsibility of Member States as regards training and assessment of seafarers. Stipulates the obligation of Member States to submit to the European Commission reports concerning the evaluation of quality standards applicable to the administration of the certification system and to share information concerning certificates, endorsements and dispensations with other Member States or Parties to the STCW Convention and companies requesting verification of the authenticity and validity of certificates. |
