Second Region

Comprehensive legislation on prostitution. Basic objective of act is to decriminalise prostitution and to create framework which (a) safeguards human rights of sex workers and protects them from exploitation; (b) promotes welfare and occupational health and safety of sex workers; (c) is conducive to public health; and (d) prohibits use in prostitution of persons under 18 years of age. Divided into 4 parts. Part 1 (s. 2-6) contains preliminary provisions. Part 2 (s. 7-33) regulates commercial sex services. Part 3 (s. 34-41) provides for operator certificates. Part 4 (s. 42-51) contains miscellaneous provisions.
