Abstract/Citation: Comprehensive legislation on military service and armed forces. Divided into 18 parts. Part I contains preliminary provisions and definitions. Part II regulates application of the Act. Part III deals with commission, enrolment and attestation. Part IV provides for termination of service, power to modify certain fundamental rights, retirement, discharge and dismissal. Part V deals with service privileges, Part VI with offences, Part VII with punishments, and Part VIII with penal deductions. Part IX-XIV regulate procedures before court-martial. Part XV contains special provisions in relation to ships. Part XVI provides for dealing with property of deceased persons, deserters and "lunatics". Part XVII regulates appeals from court-martial. Finally Part XVIII provides for power to make rules.
