Abstract/Citation: Makes provisions for different sorts of maritime certificates of professional competency and defines minimum prerequisites for their possession. Determines prerequisites for the issue of any kind of certificate or document in the maritime field, the form and the force of these documents and the registration record of these certificates and justifying documents. Makes provisions for those employed in ships sailing in the territorial waters under the force of the port regulations. Provides for the recognition of foreign states' certificates, which are part of the STCW Convention, defines minimum levels of professional training and provides for the recognition of professional schools.
