Second Region

Provides for the freedom of association (s. 3) and governs matters regarding registration of trade unions, collective bargaining, and unfair labour practices on the part of employers and employees. Trade unions shall enjoy immunity from civil proceedings in relation to actions carried out in an industrial dispute. S. 32 allows strikes or lock-outs; if such an action lasts for more than 30 days, the government may prohibit the action. Also provides for a Labour Court and arbitration and conciliation procedures.
