Abstract/Citation: Stipulates that no on-land borehole enterprise commence drilling operations or be abandoned unless competent authorities are notified. Owners and operators of boreholes shall draw up a health and safety document assessing risks to workers and setting out escape and evacuation plans in case of an emergency. S. 10 requires operators to provide health surveillance. Schedule 2 sets forth further safety requirements, including work permits for the carrying out of dangerous operations, regular maintenance records of plant, and measures to prevent and combat explosions and fires.
