Second Region

Provides men and women equal right to employment, including recruitment, training, remuneration, safety conditions and social security. Employers of female workers shall seek to provide female employees with flexible timetables, shorter working days, or work to be performed at home. Employers with a high number of female employees shall qualify for certain government subsidies. S. 9 prohibits discrimination against female employees, including insults or acts of violence. Women who are pregnant and who are employed in work dangerous to the foetus shall be transferred to more suitable work upon the recommendation of a medical practitioner. If the employer is not able to comply, the female worker may unilaterally terminate her labour contract.
