Abstract/Citation: The purpose of the Law is to promote the improvement of national health care and medical treatment by taking measures to obtain skilled nurses taking into account the rapid increase in the number of elderly people, and changing circumstances with regard to health care and medical treatment. Provides for guidelines for the education, training, and employment of nurses, and for the appointment, in each prefecture as well as at the national level, of Nurse Centers to give assistance to nurses, to investigate the nursing situation, and to provide training, information and counselling.
