Abstract/Citation: This amendment to the Social Security Act 1991 creates a comprehensive unemployment insurance program. It provides benefits for qualified individuals under either the Job Search provision of the Act or for those who have entered into a Newstart Activity Agreement. Such an agreement offers benefit to those involved in a number of allowable activities, including vocational training; approved unpaid voluntary work; job searching; etc.
