Abstract/Citation: This Act intends to achieve the intended purposes inherent in the Occupational Safety and Health Convention 1981, the 2002 Protocol on Occupational Safety and Health, and the Promotional Framework for Occupational Safety and Health Convention 2008. Whilst it is acknowledged that the cost of achieving the intended objectives of this Act may be burdensome upon the employer, it is accepted that the health, safety and welfare of an employee is paramount for a working place to effectively function.
