	ACUTE HAZARDS	PREVENTION	FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE & EXPLOSION	Combustible. Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.	NO open flames.	Use water spray, powder, foam, carbon dioxide. In case of fire: keep drums, etc., cool by spraying with water.

STRICT HYGIENE!
	SYMPTOMS	PREVENTION	FIRST AID
Inhalation	Burning sensation. Cough. Sore throat. Nausea. Shortness of breath.	Use local exhaust or breathing protection.	Fresh air, rest. Half-upright position. Artificial respiration may be needed. Refer for medical attention.
Skin	Redness. Pain.	Protective gloves. Protective clothing.	Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse and then wash skin with water and soap. Refer for medical attention .
Eyes	Redness. Pain. Blurred vision. Partial loss of vision.	Wear safety spectacles or eye protection in combination with breathing protection.	First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then refer for medical attention.
Ingestion	Burning sensation.	Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work. Wash hands before eating.	Rinse mouth. Give one or two glasses of water to drink. Give a slurry of activated charcoal in water to drink. Refer for medical attention . Rest.

Personal protection: self-contained breathing apparatus. Sweep spilled substance into covered sealable, plastic containers. If appropriate, moisten first to prevent dusting. ENVIRONMENT

NOTES
The symptoms of lung oedema often do not become manifest until a few hours have passed and they are aggravated by physical effort. Rest and medical observation are therefore essential. The odour warning when the exposure limit value is exceeded is insufficient. Do NOT take working clothes home.
