Bangladesh Country Assessment and Priorities (CAPs)- Skills strategy

This document will provide guidance for future skills interventions in Bangladesh.

ILO, with support from the European Union and the Government of Canada, has been working with the Government of Bangladesh for almost two decades to reform and strengthen the Bangladeshi skills development system.
In late 2022, funded by the European Union through the Skills 21 project, the ILO convened multiple technical and political consultations with ILO Constituents and national Stakeholders (incl. MoLE, BEF, NCCWE, TMED, DTE, BTEB, BMET, NSDA,) in order to analyse the Bangladesh skills sector and compile strategies for strengthening skills development and life-long learning in Bangladesh.
The main focus areas of the Bangladesh CAP are: (a) strengthened governance of the skills system; (b) skills matching and anticipation; (c) quality skills provision; (d) broadened access to skills and lifelong learning opportunities; and (e) skills for migration.
The Bangladesh CAP will provide guidance for future skills interventions in Bangladesh.
