Academy on Labour Migration

The Labour Migration Academy is a personalized one week course that will enhance your capacity as a key migration actor to better understand labour migration challenges and opportunities in a changing political, economic and social context.

Today there are an estimated 244 million international migrants around the world, the majority of whom are migrant workers. Globalization, demographic shifts, conflicts, income inequalities and climate change will encourage ever more people to cross borders in search of employment and security. Yet, the migration process entails complex challenges in terms of governance, migrant workers' protection, migration and development linkages and international cooperation.

An Academy on Labour Migration, organized by the International Training Centre of the ILO, will bring together key actors dealing with migration issues, with a view to exchange knowledge and good practices. This course covers a range of cross-cutting labour migration themes, such as the protection of migrant workers, fair labour migration governance, and sustainable development.
