ILO and European Commission reaffirm mutual partnership at 13th high-level meeting

On 18 and 19 January, the ILO and the European Commission (EC) held their 13th annual high-level meeting in Geneva.

On 18 and 19 January, the International Labour Office (ILO) and the European Commission (EC) held their 13th annual high-level meeting in Geneva. The meeting was co-chaired by ILO Deputy Director-General for Policy, Deborah Greenfield, and the Director-General of DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion of the EC, Michel Servoz.

Participants exchanged on recent policy developments, reviewed specific EU-ILO projects supporting decent work in- and outside the EU, and discussed key areas for continued cooperation in the year ahead. These include the Future of Work Centenary initiative, the European Pillar of Social Rights, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, social protection, labour migration, maritime issues, decent work in global supply chains, and international labour standards.

Both institutions reaffirmed their partnership and commitment to closely work together on issues of common concern in the year ahead.
