    This project contributes to the socio-economic development of Iraq through enhancing the application of International Labour Standards and national labour legislation and promoting social dialogue, social justice, and decent work.

  2. Improved access to employment opportunities for Lebanese and refugee graduates from skills training

    The project aims to provide post-training services and market-based skills training for vulnerable Lebanese and refugees in order to improve employability in the labour market.

  3. Towards improved formal and non-formal Technical and Vocational Education and Training in Lebanon

    2 January 2017 - 31 March 2023, Lebanon

    The joint ILO/UNICEF programme will implement activities to address the challenges and needs identified within the formal and non-formal TVET sector mapping at both policy level and capacity development level of service providers.

    Tackling the worst forms of child labour amongst IDPs, refugees, and vulnerable host communities in Iraq

    The project targets both children in or at risk of the worst forms of child labour and their families in efforts to increase protection and find sustainable solutions that address the root causes of child labour in the country.

  6. Creating decent job opportunities through applying Employment Intensive Approaches at Cultural Heritage Conservation activities

    21 February 2021 - 28 February 2023, Iraq

    The project aims to safeguard and rehabilitate cultural heritage sites in northern Iraq, through applying Employment Intensive Approaches in construction activities, including clearance, maintenance, consolidation, site development and presentation. Jobs created through this project target both Iraqis and Syrian refugees.

    Through this research partnership, the ILO aims to support the Government of Jordan and national constituents in responding to the youth employment challenge and supporting dialogue around policies and strategies for improving the livelihoods of young Syrians and Jordanians through evidence-based research and analysis.

    Creating space for dialogue between agencies and governments in the Middle East and North Africa is critical to identify options for the expansion of social protection for agricultural workers in the region.
