  1. Advancing Decent Work in Jordan’s Agriculture Sector: A compliance model

    This project seeks to advance decent work and the status of agriculture workers – Jordanian, refugee and migrant workers - through a compliance model that strengthens productivity, national labour legislation and adheres to international labour standards.

  2. Reforming the End of Service Indemnity scheme in Lebanon’s private sector into a pension system for old-age, disability and survivors

    2 January 2018 - 30 December 2019, Lebanon

    The project aims to establish a pension system for private sector workers to provide periodic benefits in case of old-age, disability and death.

  3. Formalizing access to the legal labour market for refugees and host communities in Jordan (Phase II)

    30 September 2018 - 30 September 2019, Jordan

    This project seeks to support Jordanians and Syrian refugees in accessing decent work in Jordan’s labour market through skills development and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), while also supporting female workers to enter and remain in the formal work force through targeted support. It also supports refugee workers with work permit issuance in selected sectors, including through an ILO-developed web-based platform.

  4. Improved access to employment opportunities for Lebanese host communities and Syrian refugees in Lebanon

    1 May 2017 - 30 September 2019, Lebanon

    The project will contribute to upgrading the agricultural technical education system in Lebanon, to improve access to employment opportunities and livelihoods in rural areas.

  5. Improving Livelihoods for Palestinian Refugees in Lebanon: Better Access, More Opportunities, Enhanced Capacities

    3 July 2017 - 31 July 2019, Lebanon

    ILO and UNRWA launch an entrepreneurship and self-employment project among Palestinian refugees in Lebanon to facilitate their entry to the labour market.

  6. Lebanon Labour Force and Households’ Living Conditions Survey 2017

    1 March 2017 - 31 July 2019, Lebanon

    Lebanon's Central Administration for Statistics (CAS) and the ILO have embarked upon an EU funded project to produce reliable, timely and representative statistical data on the current conditions of work in the country.

    Better Work Jordan (Phase II)

    1 September 2014 - 30 June 2019, Jordan

    Better Work Jordan aims to reduce poverty by expanding decent work opportunities in Jordan’s apparel industry thorough improved working conditions and increased competitiveness of the industry brought about by enhancing economic performance at the enterprise level as well as improving compliance with Jordanian labour law and International Labour Standards.

  8. Decent jobs for Jordanians and Syrian refugees in the manufacturing sector

    1 May 2017 - 30 April 2019, Jordan

    The project, which aims to benefit thousands of Jordanian and Syrian workers, is part of efforts to support the implementation of a new EU-Jordan trade agreement to relax the rules of origin.

  1. Improved and market-based provision of vocational training for Lebanese and refugees

    1 May 2017 - 31 December 2018, Lebanon

    The project will design a training programme that helps vocational training providers to gather information on and analyse market needs in order to provide targeted services responsive to community market demands.

  2. Engagement with the construction sector in the Arab States

    1 January 2016 - 31 December 2018, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon

    To build a strong, resilient and fair construction sector across the Arab States, the ILO FAIRWAY project engages with the private sector to support their adherence to international standards and principles.
