ILO in Syria conducts training workshop focused on psychological support, rehabilitation and integration of working children

The training-of-trainers workshop will build the capacity of case managers who deal with the rehabilitation and reintegration of working children.

The ILO will hold a training workshop for child protection case managers at the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour in the Syrian Arab Republic. The workshop will be held with case managers from the Directorate of Social Affairs in from the city of Homs, Syria as well as representatives from the Syrian General Federation of Trade Unions (GFTU), employers’ organizations, and local partners of The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNCHR) Al-Nada, Al-Namaa, and Child Care.

Upon conclusion of the workshop attendees will have built their capacity in: 
  • ILO concepts, conventions and integrated child protection responses to combat child labour in crises.
  • Rehabilitation and reintegration of working children at all the stages of child development. 
  • Provision of psychosocial support to working children across the spectrum of child labour occupations.
The workshop is being administered in collaboration with UNCHR and falls under the framework of the the ILO’s Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour in Syria.
