Lebanon Employment and Infrastructure Programme: Creating decent work opportunities for displaced Syrians and host communities through infrastructure improvement, in Lebanon

Invitation to pre-qualification training for Lebanese registered Contractors with proven civil works track record.

In close partnership with the Ministry of Labour and the Ministry of Social Affairs, the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), are implementing the Lebanon Employment and Infrastructure Programme (LEIP), which is fully financed by KfW. The programme aims at creating short- to mid-term employment opportunities for Lebanese host community members and displaced Syrians through infrastructure works. At the centre of the programme is a so called Local Resource Based Technology (LRBT) approach to infrastructure rehabilitation and improvement. Contractors participating in the programme must participate in an obligatory one day pre-tender qualification training, which will focus on the specific requirements of LRBT and tender procedures. The contractor must enrol 2 staff in this training (i) one engineer and (ii) one director or procurement specialist.

LEIP is now preparing the first civil works projects and the first tender process is expected to be launched soon after the pre-qualification training. Bids will only be accepted which include certificates of completed pre-tender qualification training described above. The one day training will take place in Beirut on three separate occasions, on 25, 26 and 27 July.

Training places are limited, therefore priority will be given on the basis of the time completed registrations are received by the ILO.

To apply for the participation at the training, please complete the Registration Form.

Your application to participate in the pre-qualification training should be received by ILO no later than 20 July 2017 at the following address: ILO LEIP Contractor Training, Att: Hanin Al-Wazzan Email: alwazzan@ilo.org
