The Future of Work in Jordan

Jordan will hold a national dialogue on the “Future of Work” as part of a global ILO initiative aimed at shedding light on some of the key challenges and opportunities posed by the changing world of work.

Government, workers' and employers' representatives and other key stakeholders in Jordan will hold a national “Future of Work” dialogue to discuss a broad range of issues related to the changing world of work.

The two-day meeting will bring together experts from various fields to present some of the key areas that are undergoing change in Jordan. Topics include managing demographic transition; maintaining social stability in the context of massive population displacement; managing technological change; and managing the employment impact of climate change.

The meeting comes in the context of the “Future of Work Initiative ” which was launched by the ILO in 2015, inviting all its member States to undertake “Future of Work” dialogues based around work and society, decent jobs, the organization of work and production, and the governance of work.

Following the national dialogues, a High Level Global Commission on the Future of Work will be established to examine the output from the national dialogues and publish a report and recommendations in the course of 2018.
