  1. ILO Response to the Beirut Blast: A decent work approach for quick recovery and job creation

    On August 4 2020, a massive explosion ripped through the Port of Beirut, killing hundreds of people and leaving thousands more injured and homeless. The ILO response programme contributes to the UN Flash Appeal under the Emergency Response Framework to address the consequences of the explosion, from immediate needs to recovery and reconstruction.

  3. ILO, ITC launch on-line Training of Trainers (ToT) on managing agricultural cooperatives in Jordan

    The global training package ‘My.COOP - Managing your agricultural cooperatives’, has been adapted to the Jordanian context. Graduates of the ToT will become part of a pool of certified ILO trainers who will be able to conduct face-to-face courses in the future.

    Under Better Work Jordan Phase III strategy, the program will continue to work with stakeholders and development partners to expand decent work opportunities in the Jordanian garment industry and beyond. The program aims to help reduce poverty by providing decent work, empowering women, driving business competitiveness and promoting inclusive economic growth. This can be achieved through enhancing economic performance at the enterprise level as well as improving compliance with the Jordanian Labour Law and International Labour Standards.
