GBDN 2nd meeting in Shanghai,13 September 2018
(ILO NEWS, Sept 20): At their second meeting, the founding members of the ILO Global Business and Disability Network (GBDN) - China Chapter - elected Ms. Grace Xiang of the Accor Hotels-China as their Chairperson. Mr. Chen Feibao of AnBang Pharmaceutical and Ms. Sarah Albert of Flex-China were chosen as Vice-Chairs of the Network.

Launched in July 2018, the China Chapter of the Network relies on 15 founding member companies which are keen to share experiences, resources and solutions to hire and retain persons with disabilities. “Disability hiring needs cooperation from all sides. The disability community – teachers, parents and jobseekers – would want to work with us, if they have confidence in the working environment of our companies. We also need to build trust among all employees that a worker with some forms of disability will not decrease the productivity level,” stated Ms. Grace Xiang, the newly elected Chairperson of GBDN-China.

In this fledgling stage, we are excited to show one another what each of us has done and learnt from our peers’ innovation in disability hiring. We will take stock of our expertise and be practical in what we can achieve together. ” said Mr. Chen Feibao, the Vice-Chair.

The GBDN-China is a national-level, company-driven network that supports businesses to succeed in and benefit from disability inclusion through collaboration.
