    The ILO-IPEC project “Combating the Worst Forms of Child Labour in Shrimp and Seafood Processing Areas in Thailand” sponsored a research project during the second and third quarter of 2012 to survey primary processing facilities in Samut Sakhon, a province south of Bangkok.

    Viet Nam is lagging behind many other countries, including most of its neighbours, in occupational safety and health, said Vice Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Bui Hong Linh. According to the ministry, 606 workers died in work-related accidents last year in Viet Nam, almost 10 per cent increase against 2011.

    My Son community-based tourism village opens to tourists

    A new community-based tourism village near the World Cultural Heritage My Son Sanctuary in the central province of Quang Nam officially opens its service to tourists today. This is part of the project Strengthening of Inland Tourism in Quang Nam between the International Labour Organization (ILO) and Quang Nam Province, which is contributing to the promotion of pro-poor tourism in Viet Nam.

    Survey on assessing working condition of Asian-Born Nurses in UK

    The EU-funded International Labour Organization project on Decent Work Across Borders (DWAB) is implementing a project focussing on the international migration of health professionals between the Philippines, India and Viet Nam to Europe. The ILO-DWAB is documenting working conditions of foreign trained nurses in the United Kingdom. If you were born in the Philippines, India or Viet Nam and are now working as a nurse in the UK, we would very much like to hear from you! Circulate widely! Survey is open until 31 May 2013.
