Four UN agencies are working together with the Royal Government in Cambodia to address youth employment challenges in Cambodia

Cambodia has the fourth largest youth population in the South-East Asia region (UNDESA, 2020). According to the General Population Census of the Kingdom of Cambodia 2019, seventy per cent of young people aged 15-29 were economically active in 2019. Furthermore, young people aged 15-29 made up a major part of Cambodia’s working-age population (37 per cent). However, Cambodia’s youth face many challenges in the labour markets. The “Decent Employment for Youth in Cambodia” programme was initiated to address the challenges of youth employment in Cambodia and prepare young people for the future of work.
