From general housekeeping services to providing care and looking after the needs of family members, domestic workers make vital contributions to our everyday life.

Domestic work provides gainful employment for many women and importantly supports economies and societies in Thailand and around the world. As domestic workers work behind closed doors of homes, their work is often unseen and lacks the recognition it deserves. As a result, domestic workers are still excluded from having comprehensive labour rights, including the right to social protection.

It is time to fully recognize domestic work for what is it – work- and reconsider the access to social protection for domestic workers, not only because they deserve just like any other workers, but also for greater gender equality and sustainable development that benefits us all. Watch this video and join us in advocating for inclusive access to social protection for domestic workers in Thailand.
