Cambodian Skill Competition Trainers and Champion to be trained in China under South-South Cooperation Skills Development Network

With the coordination from ILO-China Partnership Programme, the discussion workshop on Training Cambodian Skills Competition Champion in China was organized under the South-South Cooperation Skills Development Network

The meeting was attended by representative of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training of Cambodia, the Consul General of the Royal Consulate General of Cambodia in Haikou, ILO colleagues and relevant leaders of Hainan Technician College and Guangzhou Industry and Trade Technician College.

 

At the meeting, H.E Teang Sak, Director General of the Skills Standards Department of the Cambodian Ministry of Labor, said in his speech that the skills competition activities are highly valued by the Cambodian national government, and through holding and participating in the skills competition, more Cambodian young people can be attracted to join the labor force, which is of great significance for improving the skill level of workers and realizing "Industry 4.0". He expressed his gratitude for the support provided by ILO-China, Hainan Technician College and Guangzhou Industry and Trade Technician College in skills training.
 

During the discussion session, the participants had full communication and friendly discussions on the relevant details of Cambodian competition champions and coaches to train in China, and preliminarily agreed that Hainan Technician College will undertake the training tasks of Cambodian skills competition trainers and players in welding and industrial automation, while Web Design, Network Cabling and IT Software Solution for Business will be responsible by Guangzhou Industry and Trade Technician College. In addition to the training, the ILO-China will also support for curriculum development for those skills.  
 

Mr Liu Yutong, Programme Manager of the ILO-China Partnership pointed out that through the South-South Cooperation Skills Development Network, China and Cambodia have carried out a series of cooperation activities such as skills training with remarkable results, thanks to the long-term support of participating units such as Hainan Technician College and Guangzhou Industry and Trade Technician College. The ILO will further promote in-depth cooperation between ASEAN countries and China in skills training, athlete training and teaching material development, and jointly make efforts to improve the labor force and enterprise productivity of all countries.
