Belt and Roads Conference on Employment Services in ASEAN+3 countries

The ILO, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of China (MoHRSS), and the Department of Human Resources and Social Security (DoHRSS) of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China are organizing a forum for practitioners to share knowledge and best practices in employment services delivery.

Representatives from governments, workers’ and employers’ organizations from ASEAN Member States, China, Japan and South Korea are to share good practices and experiences on employment services and explore ways to further improve service delivery under the south south triangular cooperation modality and China’s Belt and Road Initiative.

The meeting will also showcase the good practices in Cambodia and Lao People’s Democratic Republic where PES and LMIS has been substantially improved thanks to the ILO/China South-South cooperation project.

Ms Zhang Yizhen, Vice Minister of Human Resources and Social Security of China, Mr Huang Ribo, Vice Governor of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Ms Azita Berar Awad, Director of ILO’s Employment Policy Department will be present at the opening ceremony.

Meeting's objectives:

  • To share knowledge and good practices on public employment services (PES) and labour market information systems (LMIS).
  • To discuss how existing mechanisms can better match jobseekers with employers for both domestic and overseas employment in the light of the ASEAN economic integration and China’s Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).
  • To enhance development cooperation through expertise-sharing and capacity development.
