  1. ILO and IOM ink agreement to strengthen collaboration

    The International Labour Organization (ILO) and International Organization for Migration (IOM) have agreed to strengthen their collaboration in Bangladesh around activities of common interest, in particular safe and skilled migration.

  2. Decent Work Country Diagnostics (DWCD) Inception-cum-Capacity Building Workshop

    The workshop will introduce the background, concept and elements of the DWCD process including statistical decent work indicators, legal framework indicators and the proposed DWCD analytical framework to the national government agencies, workers and employers organizations.

    28th April is commemorated as World OSH Day every year. Since last 11 years, the Employers’ Federation of Pakistan celebrates this day by organizing ‘OSH Awards’ with tripartite stakeholders to encourage corporate sector to compete in adopting good OSH practices. In 2016, more than 30 companies won OSH Awards in different categories. The event is supported by ILO through ‘Strengthening Labour Inspection System in Pakistan’ project.

The Law marks a significant movement – if not historical – in shifting national’s perspective towards persons with disabilities from social-based to human rights-based approach.

    The activity observes World Day for Safety and Health at Work, commemorates Workers' Memorial Day and raises awareness on the important role of trade unions in labour inspection and in the promotion of safe and healthy working conditions.

  4. Commemoration of International Day on Health and Safety at Work

    Every year worldwide 28th April is remembered as World Day for Safety and Health at Work. This year it was commemorated under the theme “Workplace Stress: a collective challenge”. On this day, in Pakistan also, an event was organised where ILO along with its stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment towards the goal of safer workplaces. During this event, the annual EFP OSH&E Awards were also distributed amongst the winners.
