    A proposed new labour standard on HIV/AIDS in the world of work has received solid support from the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) and the World Health Organization during the annual meeting of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva.

  3. Questions and Answers on the proposed Recommendation on HIV/AIDS and the world of work

    This year’s International Labour Conference will see the second, and final discussion on the development of a labour standard on HIV/AIDS and the world of work. If adopted, the recommendation will be the first international human rights instrument on AIDS in the workplace. ILO Online spoke to ILO/AIDS Director, Dr. Sophia Kisting about the Recommendation.

    Geneva, 2 June 2010 – The second round of discussions on the formulation of an international labour standard on HIV/AIDS and the world of work was launched today at the 99th International Labour Conference (ILC).

    The ILO has published the last two reports, Report V(2A) and Report V(2B), required under the ILO Constitution and Standing Orders, as part of the double discussion process called for by the Governing Body for a labour setting item on HIV/AIDS and the world of work at its session of March 2007.
