  1. 10th International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific (ICAAP): "Diverse Voices, United Actions"

    The International Labour Organization (ILO) co-organized a series of events as part of the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) at the 10th International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific (ICAAP) under the theme “Diverse Voices, United Action”.

  2. UN Workplace Project in India: Launch of the campaign “STIGMA FUELS HIV”

    On August 1, 2011, the UN agencies in India came together under the flag of UN Cares: ‘HIV and the UN workplace project’, in the UN Conference Hall, New Delhi to launch a year-long anti-stigma campaign - “Stigma Fuels HIV”.

  1. 2011 High Level Meeting on AIDS

    8 - 10 June 2011

    From 8-10 June 2011 Member States will gather in New York, USA, for the UN General assembly High Level Meeting on AIDS. The UNAIDS / IOM / UNHCR / ILO Side Event on Migration and HIV will be held on Friday, 10 June 2011, 1:15 - 2:30 pm, NLB Conference Room 1.

  2. ILC 2011 - Give effect to Recommendation No. 200 and partner with Global Fund

    Delegates were invited by the Programme on HIV/AIDS and the World of Work (ILO/AIDS) to this event to know more about the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM), and how to use Global Fund financing mechanisms at country level, to implement workplace HIV and TB policies and programmes, and strengthen public private partnerships in line with ILO Recommendation No. 200, with the participation of Dr Akram Ali Eltom, Director of Partnerships at the Global Fund.

  1. HIV and AIDS course at ILO International Training Centre

    A two-week capacity-building course on HIV/AIDS and the world of work, offered by the ILO Training Centre in Turin (Italy), with a prevention and social protection perspective. The course aims to strengthen the capacity of planners and social actors to develop and implement workplace policies and programmes on HIV and AIDS that build on and benefit from the decent work approach, covering rights, prevention, employment issues, social protection aspects and social dialogue.

  1. Employers' Organizations and Effective HIV/AIDS Workplace Management - Building a worldwide network of EO specialists

    The course aims at strengthening the capacity of EOs’ specialists on HIV/AIDS. It includes training on the global policy, legal and financial frameworks to combat HIV/AIDS in the world of work and an analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of current EO HIV and AIDS policies and services. It proposes a step-by-step approach to the development of advisory services on how to design, develop and put in place effective workplace policies on HIV/AIDS.

  1. 2010 East African Business Council regional CEO Testing Day and Health Fair: A Message of Dr Sophia Kisting

    Dr Sophia Kisting, Director of the ILO Programme on HIV/AIDS and the World of Work, addressed CEOs and senior managers at the occasion of the Regional CEO Testing Day and Health Fair organized by the East African Business Coalition in Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda. Leaders from the business community have a major role to play in promoting voluntary testing and counselling to enhance HIV prevention and giving effect to the ILO Recommendation concerning HIV and AIDS and the World of Work, 2010 (No. 200).

  2. ILO to launch implementation phase of new international labour standard at XVIII International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2010)

    The ILO will open a series of events under the theme “Preventing HIV, Protecting human rights at work” at the AIDS 2010 Conference to mark the launch of the new Recommendation. With its constituents, the ILO will focus on developing strong partnerships with the international community of donors, stakeholders implementing HIV policies and programmes and people living with HIV to reduce stigma and discrimination for all workers living with HIV or believed to be HIV positive, and give a new impetus to prevention efforts.

  3. Workplace Partners Forum - A pre-conference event organized by the International Labour Organization (ILO)
